Practice islands of enlightenment - your Being will complete the process.

We use a crutch process well call "Observe."

When you notice yourself thinking (when you become aware of using Mind) end the thought with an expression - use your thumb to tap. The gong will vibrate and sound for several seconds. During this time, the sound/sensation will provide you a physical texture upon which to focus your attention. Hear, touch and in that feeling, let go of the thought entirely.

Another timed alternative: the gong will activate every few seconds. This process provides you a simple physical background to provide the merest occupation for Mind. Your Being may then let go of all thought to which Mind may cling.

The Being and Mind are one at a deep level. But the point of our exercise is to relinquish our incessant dwelling in Mind; while Mind is a useful tool for daily navigation of our world, it is an error to associate with Mind as if it were our Being itself. The Being is the high, free, natural state, characterized by lack of care, concern and stress, and filled with a sense of light, love and delight. It is there in each of us, simply to be awakened.

You will always come back to Mind if you truly need. The tool will not disappear. Recognizing this is the first step to allowing Mind to step aside without fear of its destruction. It will not be destroyed, but it will be demoted as Being claims its rightful place. When your Being has ascended, Mind will be quiet and well behaved. Until the handover of power has taken place, until you have learned how to create the islands of Being during which Mind may dissolve, it may fight the change in status vigorously.

Activating Enlightenment is a tool to subdue the Mind, allowing your Being a bit of wiggle room until it can take its place in the sun.
